Kristen Long
My name is Kristen Long, and I'm an interactive designer currently working at POLITICO creating information graphics.
Prior to POLITICO, I was a Carnegie-Knight Fellow working on UNC's award-winning News21 project, Powering a Nation, as a designer and programmer.
I've created websites and worked with clients both as a multimedia designer at Swarm Interactive and in freelance work.
I have a degree in Journalism and Mass Communication in the graphic design track from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While at UNC I was the director of interactive design at the Reese Felts Digital Newsroom, an experimental news project. I also created infographics for the award-winning Living Galapagos project and have held leadership roles in UNC's Online News Association and Society for News Design. I'm a former graphics editor at The Daily Tar Heel and a former graphic design assistant at the Department of Marketing and Design at UNC's Student Union.
